Bella's Diary : Part 1
Dear Diary,
This morning me, Molly, and Isabel all piled into the car waving goodbye to our house. It wasn't ours any longer. We are slowly making our way from Montana to Oregon, just because of my dad's work. I didn't like having to say goodbye to Helen, my best friend. When I called her I froze, unable to get the words out of my mouth. She came over to see what was up, and when I told her, we cried until our eyes hurt. We both promised to keep in touch, and I might visit in the summer. After three hours in the car, the air didn't smell fresh, if we opened the windows it smelled like cow poop, and Isabel felt sick. At seven hours into the drive, Isabel had thrown up twice, Molly was asleep, and then mom finally announced that we were in Washington and dad had seen a hotel nearby. Once we got to our room I took a shower, stuffed my pockets with bath soaps, and laid on the bed until I heard Molly shout "Mom! Bella took the soaps again!" I laughed before resting my head on the pillow, and slowly, falling asleep. -Bella

Bella's Diary: Part 2
Dear Diary,
I woke up in the morning with Molly looking at me angrily, soaps in her hand. Uh-Oh. This couldn't be good. Lucky for me, mom called Molly to get dressed. She was still staring at me. I didn't want to sit next to her in the car. Once everyone got dressed, we went downstairs to have some breakfast. I took a plate of waffles and some apple juice. I was so hungry, I ate it all before my parents sat down! Pretty soon we were in the car, and luckily I sat next to Isabel. At about 3-4 hours into the drive we arrived in Portland. Wow. It's so beautiful. "We aren't there yet!" dad said. Isabel was trying to take pictures of the beautiful city but since we were in a moving car, the pictures came out blurry so she was screaming. Once we entered another town she was crying, "I'll n-n-never s-s-see t-t-that place again!" Isabel cried. "Well of course we will visit again, here they have OMSI! Don't you want to go there?" Mom said cheerfully. Me, Molly, and Isabel (they're both older than me, by the way.) stared at each other curiously, as if trying to read each others minds to find out what was an OMSI. About an hour later, we had entered a town called Polema, and parked inside a garage of a khaki colored house."I asked the movers to paint your rooms. They're all upstairs. What are you waiting for? Shoo!" said mom. I went upstairs and saw a door that had my name on it. Slowly,I opened the door. The walls, ceiling, and carpet were all light blue, my favorite color! I lay down on my new white bed with green and blue striped bedsheets and hugged Li-La .(pronounced Lie-lah) I looked at my blue walls and sighed. Could this move be good after all? -Bella

Ding-Dong! I rushed out of my door and crashed into Isabel. "Ow!" She said. I hurried downstairs to find mom at the door chatting with someone who had a daughter about my age I walked up to the door and said hi. The girl stared at me, wide-eyed and opened-mouthed. I smiled and faced her mom. "Hi! You must be the next door neighbors." I sneaked a glance at a plate of brownies in my mom's hands. "Thank you for the brownies. I love them!" I finished. The girl gazed at me, shook her head and left as I was running to the table to eat a lunch of burgers and fries. Then I realized that I had given Isabel a bruise. She hates bruises because she looks bad and not even makeup can cover it. For sure she's gonna get me now.- Bella
Bella's Diary: Part 4
After I ate, I went to my room and luckily, Isabel wasn't waiting for me. Mom says tomorrow she's going shopping for my school supplies. She went to my school's website and printed the list of supplies for 4th grade. I glanced at the list on my dresser. It said:

Uh-Oh. That doesn't sound like a nice principal. I guess I'll deal with that later. I picked up my book and started to read...

Bella's Diary: Part 5
It's Tomorrow! Mom is at the store right now, buying my uniform and school supplies. Tomorrow we start school. Well, at least me. My sisters don't start until Wednesday. Dad said my teacher's name is Mrs. Hanks. I hope she's nice. "Honey! Guess what! I got all your uniforms and school supplies! But the best thing is, you're allowed to bring a small purse accessory! Look at this purse!" Mom shouted excitedly from downstairs. Great. Just Great. I went downstairs to find mom holding the most prettiest aquamarine purse I had ever seen. It was one of those kinds that you sling around your shoulder. I screamed. Then I heard two high-pitched screams (probably my sisters) and one deep yell from dad. He yelled, "Nooo! My computer! I thought I paid for working internet connection for ALL 24 hours!" Isabel screamed, " Mom! There's a mouse in my closet! Ahhhhh! MOM!!!" and Molly was screaming (From the backyard.), " Mom!!! There's a skunk in the bushes! Help!". We heard a psssst noise and Molly came running in the house, smellier than smelly could go. I stared at her, grabbed my purse, and ran to my room. -Bella
Bella's Diary: Part 6
Mom apparently wants me to go to the neighbors house for lunch. So be it! I thought as I walked over there. The woman that brought me the brownies greeted me at the door with her daughter, which she said was called Rose. "Nice name" I said. She beamed gratefully at me. We had chicken nuggets and garlic bread. I drank sprite and thanked them for inviting me over. "No! Come here! You are going to Blue Eagle, aren't you?" she asked me. "Yeah..." I answered weakly and followed her. She went up the stairs and into her room. She climbed on her bed and motioned for me to take a seat. I did. Then she started to talk. "So listen Bella, We have groups in our classroom. The popularity group, the O.K. group, and the losers group. If you chew on your pencil, pick your nose, or wear purple, you'll get there. Everybody knows Anastasia hates purple. New kids are often placed in that group, but if you hang out with Anastasia, you can move up. Way up. She's rich, pretty, and basically owns the class. The last thing you want to do is disagree with her. I'm in the O.K. group. Most people are there. There are only three people in the popularity group. Anastasia, Melanie, and Rachel. They get whatever they want for lunch, visit Anastasia's mansion, and wear the latest fashions. The more you try to get there, the lower you go, OK? Bye!" I walked out of the house, feeling dizzy. This is too complicated... -Bella
I woke up this morning, and suddenly, my whole conversation with Rose makes sense. I put on my glasses and walk to my closet and put on a green short dress with ruffles at the bottom with a white belt with a square trimmed with fake diamonds on it just above where the ruffles start and gray leggings. I let my hair down with a plain red clip on the left side of my head. That's my signature hairstyle. I eat breakfast, slap on my purple backpack, and rush out the door and into the car. When I get to school I walk through the doors to find the hallway bustling full of students. I slowly make my way over to room 5 and I almost immediately get grabbed from a girl that looked like someone from a magazine. She looked so pretty, she was almost a doll. Her cherry lip gloss was obviously from Glossy, the most expensive makeup company all over the US. So she was Anastasia. "Hey new girl. That's a good style you have." she paused to apply more lip gloss." Ya know, what's your name?" "Bella." I said. " OK, Bella, look, I just kicked Rachel out of the boot, don't ask why, but I did, and I have space for somebody so your coming home with me today. 'K? Good." she said. Then she walked away.
Weirded out, I call out after her. "No." I say. "What?" she asks, whirling around to face me. "No." I say, louder this time. "Why should I? Just because you say so? If you think you can boss me around then that's your problem! Also, don't call me new girl! To me, YOU'RE the new girl. So is everyone else. To me, at least."
Jaws drop.
Mouths hang open.
All the students turn to stare.
And one Glossy lip gloss fall to the floor with a clatter.
It is deathly silent.
I don't dare move, don't dare breathe.
No one can believe what they just saw.
I have made history.
